Ali and Nino Statue

The Statue of Ali and Nino, symbolizing the impossible love between Ali, an Azerbaijani Muslim youth, and Nino, a Georgian Christian girl; Due to its innovative structure, it is one of the most prominent modern art sculptures in Batumi as well as in the world.

Located on the Black Sea coast and designed by Tamar Kvesitadzade; Two 8-meter-high male-female figures, symbolizing Ali and Nino, move throughout the day and pass through each other and complete their movements in an endless loop. The statue, which contains a tragic love at its foundation, is equipped with red and blue lights when it gets dark.
