Diyarbakir Dengbêj House
Diyarbakır Dengbej House, located right next to the historical Behram Paşa Mosque in Diyarbakır's Sur, district, was opened by Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality in 2007. Shedding light on a 5,000-year-old history in the Middle East, Dengbejs perform oral literature in Kurdish with folk songs known as "stran" here every day of the week. In these folk songs, there are epic loves, loves, nature, sadness, pain and often laments that are made after the dead. Visitors can participate in activities free of charge, while chanting and strumming at Dengbej House, which is one of the places to visit in Diyarbakır Sur and has touristic value.
