Kayseri Clock Tower

With the support of Kayseri Governor Haydar Bey, the cost of the building, whose construction was undertaken by Tavlusunlu Salih Usta, was covered by the Provincial Accounting-i Hususiyesi (Provincial Special Administration). The interior of the square planned structure made of cut stone is in a spiral shape. The clock tower, which is 15 meters high, can be reached by spiral stairs. There is also a weather vane on the zinc roof of the clock tower. The movement, whose movement was brought from Leipzig, operates four-way dials. When the Kayseri delegates who attended the Sivas Congress returned to Kayseri, the Kayseri branch of the Anatolian and Rumelian Defense of Law Society was opened here.
