Van Halime Hatun Cupola

Halime Hatun Vault is a vault from the Seljuk period in the Gevaş district of Van province. It is located to the east of the Seljuk Cemetery in the district. According to the information in the inscription above the entrance door, it was built in 1335 by the Saltuklu chief Meliki İzzettin Saltuk for his daughter Halime Hatun. It was built by the son of Ahlatlı Pehlivan, Esed. The cupola, which draws attention with its herbal, geometric and inscription decorations, was restored by the General Directorate of Foundations between 2014 and 2018.
